How do I play The Escape Hunt Experience? To answer this now would give away the whole surprise, so let’s just say it is one of the most exhilarating ways to spend 90 minutes with your friends, family or co-workers. The adventure lasts for 60 minutes, but you should arrive 15 minutes before for your briefing and afterwards we offer a time for feedback and discussion, so allow 90 minutes in total (or more if you want to hang out with us). The adventure itself involves escaping from a room where a crime has been committed. Solve the mystery and escape. Sounds simple? Just try!

So how long does the adventure last? Each adventure is 60 minutes long and you need to arrive 15 minutes before for the briefing. Afterwards, the de-briefing and discussion will take around 15-20 minutes.

Can I play on my own? Our games are all designed for 2–12 players and these are the recommended numbers of players, but if you really want to play alone you can! We are happy to accommodate you as a solo player, but remember it will be hard work! It is also a lot of extra work for our game masters, so we still need to charge our minimum rate of 2 players.

So how many people should play? We have tested all sorts of numbers but the ideal is a group of 2–6 players in the Mission X and Murder in the Old Manor House rooms and 5-12 players in the Meltdown in the Steel mill rooms. For this reason, we are quite strict about the team sizes as we want to ensure that each and every Escape Hunt experience is excellent.

Do we need to be really strong? Physical strength is not needed at all. We have designed our adventures to be as accessible for the most petite person to a body builder and every age group. You need skills other than brawn such as good searching skills and logical reasoning. Moving our solid teak furniture is not required…

Are there any age limits for Escape Hunt? We have tried the adventures with all ages and it is equally enjoyable for all age groups. For practical reasons, since this is a group activity and we need a certain level of maturity, we limit the minimum age to 10 years old, but there is no maximum age. We love kids, but this is an adult game and therefore younger children really will not enjoy it.

Can a handicapped or wheelchair-bound person play the adventure too? Yes, our adventures are even handicapped-friendly. For reasons of safety and practicality, we only allow one person in a wheelchair to take part in each group, as they need able-bodied helpers, but there is no reason why they should not enjoy the experience as well. All our doors have been designed to be ADA compliant.

Will it be too difficult for me? It all depends on how well you follow the brief, work in a team and put your best effort into the adventure. Each adventure is designed to be tough, but not impossible. Our Game Masters are there to help you at all times, as they follow your play in the room with you and just outside the room in a designated alcove.

What if I don’t “escape”? Then you and your team will be eaten alive. Only kidding! You will still enjoy yourself whether you escape or not, we will make sure of that!

What if I don’t enjoy myself? We take every possible care to ensure that your experience with us is highly enjoyable and meets your expectations. We pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service and with us the customer is always right, so we will deal with any issue you might encounter and do whatever it takes to ensure that you have an excellent experience.

Do I need to wear any special clothes or bring anything? Please come in your usual clothes as we do not require any physical activity out of the ordinary. It is your brain we are after, so please make sure you bring that! Otherwise, we provide everything.

Can I come back and play again? Absolutely. We have three entirely different adventures (2 rooms of each of Meltdown in the Steel Mill and 3 rooms each of Mission X and Murder in the Old Manor House. We change the adventures at regular intervals, so you’ll be able to test your skills over and over again!
